The Atlas is not a map. It is an autopsy.

Every level is a wound in the body of a dead god and none of them have closed. You are the Blank Leaf: a single page cut out of the Atlas and given a body. The wounds remember every creature that ever died inside them. They do not remember you. That absence is the only weapon you have.

You do not fight. You prepare.

Dreadgence is an autobattler with one honest promise: a run is a pure function of your preparation. You choose your monsters, arm them, and deploy them into a wound and then you watch. No clicking, no steering, no last-second saves. Every death on the field was decided the moment you committed the loadout. Winning is being right in advance.

Steal the dead. Make an argument.

Pacts: Every monster is an extinct life agreeing to be remembered in your margin. You take its Last Name at the instant of its defeat. Deepening a Pact recovers more of its true history, until the complete name rewrites how it behaves.

Rites: Repeatable sentences torn out of a wound. Attach two to a Pact to fundamentally change its role on the field.

Relics: Physical evidence that contradicts the Atlas's official account. Rank them up to awaken the clauses sleeping inside.

Readings: A perfect simulation. The past is fixed, so the same seed always returns the same outcome. A composition that clears a wound produces an answer its memory cannot refute.

Every wound is a puzzle with a real answer.

A map is not beaten by the strongest roster it is beaten by a loadout tailored against what the map does. Experience twenty-four wounds, each with its own horror and unique solution: salt that preserves extinction as liturgy; a chapel that drowns without water; a garden that functions as a single, sleeping circulatory system. Conquer three deepening ranks per wound, with a guaranteed Certain Rite waiting for you if a wound refuses to open.

Swarms, watched.

Witness hundreds of bodies on a single floor, each expressing a singular behavior. Face cowards that flee in blind panic, enemies that split upon death, and bosses that heal more than they hurt. We prioritize legibility over cleverness: if you can't tell why a creature did something, it didn't. The whole run is a performance, and you are its only audience.

Built to be left running.

Automation: Hand repetitive Readings to the game to let it automatically clear, buy, and redeploy.

Offline Progression: The wounds keep bleeding while you're away, greeting you with a Welcome Back reckoning upon your return.

The long mystery is personal.
