Amalgamated is a turn-based board game about a stock market and the people quietly leaning on it

Four seats, twenty-eight rounds, four seasons. You win by finishing with the highest liquidation value: your cash plus your holdings' value. Building a large position moves the price against you, and so does getting out of one.

Commit before you see the weather

A round runs in four phases.

You trade, then you spend tokens, then the events phase turns over what the market is doing, then prices update.

You commit to bending the market before you find out what the market was going to do anyway.

Each season opens with two public cards. One sets what the auditors do this season. The other sets who qualifies for dividends.

A three-round queue you can only half read

Most actions do not resolve when you place them. They enter a queue three stages deep and surface three rounds later, drawn from a face-down pool. That queue is the game's hidden information.

Three things to spend tokens on

• Market Analysis. You get to look at the queue.

• Influence. You hide a token in the pool. You control what may arrive, not when.

• Insider Trading. Into the queue, at a stage you choose, with risks.

Three ways to sit down

Single player. Three AI seats that play to different theories and get in each other's way as much as yours.

Hot seat. Pass one screen around. The table holds four, with AI filling any chair nobody took.

Online. Host a table, hand out the code, two to four humans, one per device. AI fills the rest.
